I recently saw the group perform at Panorama NYC 2016, an art/tech/music festival (that was amazing, by the way!) They weren't as good as last time, but the Major Lazer dancers blew me away with their energy and wild but controlled dancing. They were incredible! Then, the music video for Cold Water came out and I just had to feature it here; the dancers combined with the breathtaking scenery = a gorgeous, rich, and thrilling piece.
That one part where the camera (taken by a drone, maybe?) takes the perspective of someone looking over the edge of a waterfall, then falls off the edge towards where the waters crash into the lake below, reminds me of when I swam in the Devil's Pool on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. I peered over the edge and it looked just like it did in this video, but times a million because I could feel the spray of the water hitting my face and hear the thunderous roar of the water as it fell down, down, down into the abyss. Unbelievable. One of the best experiences of my life.
This kind of dancing portrayed here in this video is so real and raw to me- it's all full-body, wild movements, where you let your mind go and your body feels the rhythm so deep inside its core that it is just responding to the message of that beat.
I probably watch this video too much. But anyway, just wanted to share!
